Entering the tournament this year is second-ranked Middlesex County College, N.J. The Colts have a
27-3 record after defeating Ocean County College 74-55 in the Region XIX Championship. Leading the
team are: Rodney Freeney, a 6'0" guard who earned his 1000th point in the beginning of February 2008
and who averages 19 points per game; Antwan Brinson, a 67" forward/center who averages 15 points and
8 rebounds per game, Manuel Perrotte, a 6'3" guard who averages 11 points per game; and Kevin Womack,
who took extra summer classes to become eligible to play this season and who was named MVP of the
Region XIX tournament. Head coach Corey Lowery says Womack "worked hard to get on the court" and
it paid off for the Colts.
Middlesex is coming to Delhi with what Coach Lowery calls a defensive-minded team. "A lot of our offense
is created from our defense," said Coach Lowery. The Colts have a veteran squad this year with four
players returning from the previous season, as well as a few transfer students. Coach Lowery said his
players have a "balanced-attack," play hard and are extremely motivated.
